Bagerhat city:

General Ulugh Khan Jahan (d. 1459 AD) built the city of Bagerhat, rich in architectural monuments, on the banks of the river Bhairab about six hundred years ago. In 1535, Sultan Ghiyasuddin Mahmud Shah renamed the city Khalifatabad-Badarpur. The architecture of present-day Bagerhat is one of the hallmarks of a medieval Muslim city. There are mausoleums, mosques, residences, dighis and the only surviving local government administrative center in the Middle Ages. Considering all these aesthetic architectural styles, the World Heritage Site declared the city a World Heritage Site in 1985.
